We begin with a short introduction of Surah Quraysh. The English meaning of this surah is “The Quraysh” and is the 106th surah of the Quran. It is a short Meccan surah consisting of only 4 Ayat or verses.
The Quraysh were a mercantile Arab tribe that historically inhabited and controlled Mecca and Ka’aba. The Kaaba was central to their life being the center of pilgrimage which brought much trade and prestige.
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was born into the Banu Hashim clan of the Quraysh tribe. The Quraysh staunchly opposed Muhammad until converting to Islam in 630 AD.
This Surah urges the Quraysh tribe who dominated Mecca to serve Allah, who protected them. Specifically for the sake of their own future.
